E-mail Archiving
According to a Wall Street Journal article last year "Qualcomm was put at great risk by poor email archival strategy who found damaging emails after their disclosure deadline in their ongoing patent dispute with Broadcom", this is covered more in detail by Mike at MPPNews blogand WSJOnline. If you are IT Manager for a company who must comply with e-mail retention laws, here are some few things you must consider before you buy spam quarantinelinks and e-mail archival product.

  • What type of e-mail archival storage, Database or File based?

  • Archival options for Good and Spam e-mails

  • Selective Archival Options

  • Web based archive review and retrieval

  • Search: - Should be quick and must have a Web Interface

As most vendors sell a product that includes Archival and Anti Sam features, in my next post I cover archival options at Gateways and Archiving options in Microsoft Exchange servers and how it relates with your anti spam strategy. If you've got ideas, suggestions, questions or other ways to control spam please let me know, by leaving a comment here.
