End Of Year Security Wrap Up for 2007
Filed in archive Security measures by Sue Walsh on January 7, 2008
2007 was a banner year for cybercriminals. We saw them find more and more ways to get past spam filters and anti-virus software. PDF spam died out but MP3 spam rose. There was ransomware, increased phishing, bluetooth spam, search engine spam, Skype and YouTube were hacked and used to send spam, and near the end of 2007 we were introduced to video spam. And then there's the Storm Worm, which only seems to be gaining strength. Here is a video presentation from F-Source which provides an overview of 2007's spam and cybercriminal activity and a look ahead to 2008.
