FBI's "Operation Bot Roast" Nets Eight Arrests

Seven FBI offices participated in the second phase of "Operation Bot roast", leading to the execution of 13 search warrants and 8 arrests, including that of 21 year old Ryan Brett, who allegedly lead a DDoS attack on the University of Pennsylvania. The operation uncovered an estimated 20 million dollars worth of activity. The FBI also arrested two Florida men who are accused of running a multimillion dollar phishing operation. 26 year old John Schiefer of Los Angeles was also arrested. Officials say he sold stolen usernames and passwords.

"Bot Roast II [has revealed] the diverse and complex nature of crimes being committed through the use of botnets," said FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Security experts having been warning computer users about the dangers of Botnets for sometime now.

  1. the fbi and the government are not doiing their job if people on yahoo running the name zero and keylogger_ownz and a few others are running bot nets i have 3 pc’s that have been spammed and they wont do the job they been hired to do by checking the pc’s out and getting the info of where these people live and arresting them.the law enforcement is currupt and lazy. but if i used my hacking skills to get justice i would be the first arrested and federally charged. what a lazy liberal socialist government we have its embarrassing to say im american.
