Spam News
by Sue Walsh on June 13, 2008
The FTC made changes to the can-spam act and at least one of them is a boon to spammers. The new rules regarding the required opt-out feature now dictate that only one of senders of a spam message need be designated as the official sender-that is, the only responsible for honoring opt-out requests. Since spammers change the from line constantly but not the actual spam itself, this new rule basically gives them a neat little loophole. Obviously whoever came up with this change never gets any spam! Nice, huh?
