If you're a computer security freak like some people I know (not pointing fingers!), you must have already booked your place at the Hack in the Box 2007 security conference, bought a plain ticket and checked your hotel reservation twice.
But, if you're still in doubt whether to go or not, maybe this will make you crave for HITB: seven days of intensive training, workshops and lectures, with some of the finest in security today, like Mark 'Phiber Optik' Abene, Emmanuel Goldstein, Lance Spitzner and Mikko Hypponen!
You'll be able to learn in depth advanced web application & services hacking, exploits, structured network threat analysis and forensics, practical malcode threat analysis, telecommunication fraud, war driving Kuala Lumpur and hacking and hardening oracle.
On top of it all, there's a great deal of other things to look forward to, like Lock Picking Village, HITB Hacking Challenge as well as my all time favorite Capture the Flag.
The 7th Hack in the Box (from 3. to 6. September) also has a charity note to it: The HITB Cinema will show Freedom Downtime and Urchin movies, with all the proceeds going to Malaysian National Cancer Council.
So, what are you waiting for? Although it might still be too early to start packing your suitcase (Trekkie outfit optional :-) you can surely sharpen up your existing security knowledge, I know that the US Army hackers are already compiling their tools.
