Security measures
by Dameon Welch-Abemathy on March 1, 2008
Bluetooth is a very common feature on mobile phones today. Unfortunately, some implementations have flaws, making it possible for an unauthorized device to connect to your phone. This video demonstrates what can happen in these cases:
Early on in my career in Network Security, I learned that the best way to protect yourself from being hacked was to not be connected to the network in the first place. Having bluetooth enabled on your mobile phone makes it possible or someone to hack into your phone. The best solution? Turn off your bluetooth if you're not using it. Don't unnecessarily make yourself a target.
Personally, it's why I tend to use a wired headset. That and the sound quality is just so much better.
