Protect yourself from online scum
As we surf many things can go wrong, even the more experienced users have been known to get their computers infected by spyware, adware and viruses or even get abused by online scams.
In order to make your life easier, a well-known security company McAfee has devised a browser plug-in by the name of Site Advisor. This perfect little add-on (available for Firefox and IE too) advises you about the security of websites you visit, and even marks your search results, so that you know beforehand what are you surfing into.
The McAfee Site Advisor team goes to great lengths in order to properly analyze websites and give them just the right rating. They sign up for newsletters, updates and notifications, watch what's coming back and whether it's spam, they check inbound links and downloads available for viruses, spyware and adware.
A great tool to have, no doubt about it, especially if you share your computer with less knowledgeable users.
