© cookipediachefIf there are some tasks which are impossible in this world it would certainly include stopping spam altogether. The best you can do is filtering it but you can't kill it. If we talk about Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 we have been using it offers a host of anti spam features worth mentioning. Have a look at some of those:
Connection Filtering
It offers an integrated IP based block-and-allow list based on sender reputation.
Safe Sender List Aggregation
The safe sender lists helps to reduce false positives.
Sender and Recipient Filtering
With this feature the reputation of the sender is dynamically analyzed and updated.
Sender ID
This feature verifies every e-mail originating from the internet domain from which it claims to come based on the sender's SMTP server IP address.
Content Filtering
In this anti-spam feature spam content is filtered using Intelligent Message Filter or IMF.
Outlook E-Mail Postmark
It reduces false positives for messages from legitimate senders which have little or no standing.
Anti-spam Stamp
Messages which have been filtered by the Edge Transport server role are stamped with information which includes why the message was considered spam and which combination of filters and reputation services decided its spam assessment.
At the end of the day hosted exchange services are a great way to protect your organization from spam and malware.
