Spam marketing for prostitutes
Filed in archive Spam News on May 9, 2007
Maybe I'm the one being weird, but finding prostitutes in online directories have never been my field of interest. I'd much rather play America's Army, but, that's me. Obviously, people have the urge to get comprehensive prostitutes directories, otherwise there wouldn't be an escort spam campaign.
As Information Week reports, there's a new escort spam campaign getting delivered to inboxes worldwide, offering an online prostitute finder. Luckily, the message or the embedded image does not carry any malware:
"The danger is that if people are dumb enough to click on this kind of thing, then they're playing with danger," said Cluley in an e-mail to InformationWeek. "Although the Web site appears to be non-malicious, it could just as easily have hosted malware on it. People need to learn that responding to unsolicited e-mails only encourages the spammers to send even more spam - something none of us really wants."
If you really want to find a girl in your town, try a nice smile and pleasant conversation in a local pub.
