Spammers in 1934
Filed in archive Spam on February 17, 2008
Modern Mechanix recently featured an article from one of it's 1934 issues that reveals something shocking-spam existed even then! That was more than 70 years ago! It's true! The article talks about a pirate radio station that took over a popular spot on the dial and began broadcasting ads for gambling, liquor, and quack cures. The advertising drowned out local programming. Sounds familiar, huh? Just goes to show you, the more things change, the more they stay the same!

I have seen this info on several blogs by now. It would be nice if someone would write why this isn't spam. Heck, maybe, I will.
