Don't you just hate receiving text spams? I kind of got used to email spam, but when I get it on my mobile it really pisses me off. How did they even get my number? I'm not listed anywhere.

Verizon recently won an injunction against a text message spammer, so if you're using that provider, you can hope for less spam on your mobile. ZDNet reports:

"In the judgment, Specialized Programming and Marketing and its owner, Charles Henderson, are prohibited from sending text message spam to Verizon Wireless customers. They are also required to pay damages in excess of $200,000. Verizon Wireless filed the suit after nearly 100,000 text messages were sent to Verizon Wireless customers offering them a prize vacation for a cruise to the Bahamas."

I think this is a great thing, although some ponder that the penalty should be much higher. Why is it that all spammers (fax, mobile etc) get sued so much more easily than email unsolicited marketers?
