University of Liverpool Selects GFI MailSecurity

The University of Liverpool has selected GFI MailSecurity for it's email security needs. As on of the UK's leading universities, it depends on email as it's foremost means of communication. Its computer network hosts 34,000 mailboxes and delivers over 8 million messages a month. The university was looking for a product that offered multiple anti-virus engines to insure the fastest reaction to threats, and a product that ran in a clustered environment. GFI MailSecurity fit the bill.
"We were looking for a cost effective anti-virus solution for Microsoft Exchange that worked in a clustered environment. This was an extremely important consideration for us," Steve Aldridge, Team Leader at the University's Computing Services Department said.
"A number of other products were evaluated but rejected because of cost or incompatibility with a clustered environment. We found GFI MailSecurity to be best suited to our requirements. Furthermore, having the choice of multiple engines was an added feature which we wanted."
GFI has issued a case study detailing the university's set up that can be viewed here.
