U.S. Army Enters Spam Business

The U.S. Army entered the spam business recently when it sent out bogus emails to thousands of servicemen to test how susceptible they were to phishing attacks. The emails claimed to be from the Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command and promised free tickets to various theme parks. Recipients were directed to a website and asked to input all kinds of personal information. Unfortunately the Army failed to inform the AFMWRC and the organization sent out an alert warning servicemen that it was a scam. It was later discovered that the Army's Intelligence and Security Command was responsible. The Army had no comment and the results of the "test" remain unknown.
